Healthcare Ransomware Jumps in 2017, Trend Likely to Continue
|

The number of major ransomware attacks on healthcare institutions increased by 89 percent from 2016 to 2017, according to the 2017 Healthcare Cyber Research Report, an increase from 19 to 36 events. The trend is expected to continue throughout 2018 and 2019 and to more frequently affect smaller healthcare companies.
