ANNOUNCEMENT: FOOD ECONOMY SURVEY

The survey and interview phase of the Food Policy Council's DC Food Economy Study is well underway. We are asking food businesses in the District to answer questions about themselves, their businesses, and the District's food economy and regulatory environment through a survey and interviews.

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DCFood_Survey
We would like to share the survey with as many food sector businesses as possible to get a highly representative sample, and we need YOU to help us in this effort.

Given your interest  and participation in the Food Policy Council, you likely have many connections in the food sector. Please share the survey link with those contacts (and encourage them to complete it!), as well as ask them to forward the survey on to their own contacts. Please note, the survey is for food businesses owners or managers only, not general members of the public.

Many businesses have already been sent an individualized survey link by e-mail and/or mail as part of a random sample. Please encourage your contacts to look for correspondence from DCFPC to complete the survey through that link. If they have not received an individual link, they should use the general survey link here:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DCFood_Survey

Please e-mail us at dcfoodpolicy@dc.gov if you have any questions, and thank you for your assistance in this important data gathering effort!

ANNOUNCEMENT: MILAN URBAN FOOD POLICY PACT

This Thursday, January 25, Mayor Bowser will sign DC on to the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (MUFPP) at the meeting of the US Conference of Mayors. This international pact, first signed on October 15, 2015, is a commitment by local governments to create sustainable, inclusive, and equitable food systems. The text of the pact can be found on the MUFPP website.

For more information, keep an eye on Mayor's Bowser's press page.
The mission of the DCFPC is to identify regulatory burdens on the local food economy, collect and analyze data on the food economy and food equity, promote positive food policies, and guide organizations and individuals in the local food economy.
