Dr. Alvin Reed
Dr. Alvin Reid, senior professor of evangelism at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, will return to STF’s Ballast Point Campus on Sunday, January 28. Dr. Reid will speak in the East Worship Center during the 9:15 and 11 a.m. services, then lead an evangelism forum that evening, also in the East Worship Center. The 6 p.m. forum will be based on his book, “Sharing Jesus Without Freaking Out.”
Dr. Reid says that God has “hardwired” us to share Jesus with other people: “God created you for his glory to advance his gospel with the gifts, talents and opportunities he gave you.“ At the forum, he’ll talk about “how to connect the gospel story with your story, and how to talk about that story in normal conversations with people you know.”
Marriage with Dr. Paul David Tripp
According to best-selling author and marriage expert Dr. Paul David Tripp, couples need more than romance, shared interests and mutual attraction in order to minimize struggles in their marriage. He says they also need realistic expectations, radical commitments and grace.
Dr. Tripp is a pastor, counselor, event speaker, and award-winning author. With more than 30 books and video series on Christian living, including the best-selling "What Did You Expect? Redeeming the Realities of Marriage," his driving passion is to connect the transforming power of Jesus Christ to everyday life.
