Planning Your Landscape for 2018

Homeowners across the state are ditching their water-thirsty lawns and installing beautiful, California-friendly, water-wise landscapes. One of hardest decisions to make when converting your lawn is how to design the new landscape. Below are CCWD’s resources for homeowners to create beautiful landscape designs that save water.

Take online tours of real local gardens to inspire you. There are tips on choosing various plants and an option to create your own personalized plant list.

Landscape Design Assistance Program
Interested in a 2-hour consultation with a professional landscape designer? CCWD offers participants in our Lawn to Garden Rebate Program reimbursement of $150 when they hire a local professional landscape designer.

Note: You must be approved for the Lawn to Garden Rebate program to be eligible for this service. Participants pay the designer a $150 fee at the time of service and are reimbursed by the CCWD when their lawn to garden conversion project is successfully completed.

This inspiring and informative workshop is designed for homeowners interested in replacing their water-thirsty lawns with beautiful water efficient landscaping. Experts will provide advice on landscape design, plants, and drip irrigation.  In addition, participants will learn about CCWD’s Lawn to Garden Rebate Program and Design Assistance Program.

January Garden Tip

Your irrigation is usually off this month, so it's a good time to review your zones and stations to ensure the plants watered by each zone have similar water needs. This "hydro-zoning" will ensure plants are not over or under-watered.
