Lutz Preparatory School K-8 NEWSFLASH, V6 Issue 26, January 12, 2018
Dear Parents of Current Kindergarten through Seventh Grade Students Only,

Below is a link to the Intent to Return Online Form that we send each year prior to our enrollment lottery.  You will complete two additional intents in the future:  one at end of the school year and one mid-summer.  The completion of these forms 3 times each year is required by all current families to continue your enrollment at Lutz Preparatory.  Confirming each student's intent (to return or to transfer to another school) will allow us to accurately account for our 2018-19 student enrollment.  
  • You must complete ONE Intent to Return form for EACH STUDENT currently enrolled at Lutz Preparatory School in grades K-7.  Eighth grade students do not need this form completed as they are transitioning to high school.
  • You will need your student's 7 digit Hillsborough County ID to complete this form.  If you do not know your student's ID please send an email to admissions@lutzprep.org to request it.  
  • Deadline for submission is Thursday, February 1, 2018 at midnight.  
Any family who does not complete this form will be contacted individually to confirm their intent for the next school year.  Please save us time and complete the online form by the deadline.

Do you have additional children not currently enrolled at Lutz Preparatory K-8 that you would like to enroll in the 2018-19 school year?  All students not currently attending Lutz Preparatory must apply via our enrollment lottery.  Please see the Admissions tab of our website for full details.

Middle School NJHS Shoe Drive Results
The National Junior Honor Society's Shoe Drive was a huge success! In just a few weeks, our Lutz Prep NJHS students were able to raise 3,400 pairs of shoes for the Funds2Org non-profit organization. We are extremely proud of our NJHS students and their determination to reach, and exceed, our original goal of 2,500 pairs of shoes! Thank you to the Lutz Preparatory community for helping us collect shoes.

K-8 Enrollment for the 2018-19 School Year
  • 2018-19 Intent to Return online form for our current K-7th grade families is linked above and is due by February 1, 2018 at midnight.
  • The K-8 Enrollment Lottery for the general public will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM.  Currently enrolled K-8 charter students DO NOT need to apply for the lottery.
  • If there is a sibling of a current K-8 student who is NOT ENROLLED at Lutz Preparatory School K-8 and you would like to enroll them in 2018-19 they must go through the lottery process outlined on the Admission tab of www.lutzprep.org.

Important Information for Current K-8 Out of County Residents
Updated 2018-19 procedures for Out of County Residents to enter Hillsborough County Schools:
  • Out of County students returning to their current charter school for the 2018-19 school year NO LONGER NEED TO COMPLETE the form to enter Hillsborough County Schools each school year.  No forms need to be turned into our LP registrar for returning students for 18-19.  Please contact our registrar at admissions@lutzprep.org with any questions.
  • New or transfer students will still need to complete the form the first year they enter a charter school.
  • Other local counties are in the process of deciding if residents need to apply to exit their home county, more details coming out from each county in the next few months regarding 2018-19.  Please contact your county of residence Choice Office with any questions regarding any new procedures they are requiring.

All Pro Dads

Hey Dads and Kids...

Lets start the new year on the right foot.  Join us for January's Lutz Prep/Lutz Pre-Prep All Pro Dad - Dad’s and Kid’s Breakfast.  This month's topic is "Evaluate".  Do you ever struggle to make the right decision? There are hundreds if not thousands of decisions we have to make every day as dads and kids. Sometimes the choice can be easy because we see the difference between right and wrong. Other times that decision can be much tougher when we are trying to decide between something that is good and something that is better. Our focus this month is how to evaluate a situation in order to make the best choice.

Team up with other Lutz Prep dads and kids for a quick before-school breakfast on Wednesday, January 17, doors open at 7:00.  The program starts at 7:15 and ends at 7:45. It’s fun and it’s free.  You and your kids will be glad you came!  Great way to start the morning.  Contact Ryan Martin with any questions.  (martinry@hotmail.com)

Show on the Road Musical Theater EC3-8th grade
We are so pleased to present The Little Mermaid Jr. coming to Lutz Preparatory School. This exciting musical for grades K-5 will be directed by Ms. Jessica Schoenfeld and Ms. Reena Aldridge. If you aren't registered to join us, please do so by visiting www.showontheroadtampa.com/classes. Our semester-long class session will include in a full-length, hour-long production of The Little Mermaid Jr. with lights, sound, costumes, scenery and a whole lot of singing, acting and dancing. All students will have a fun, well-rounded part in the play! We can't wait to journey "Under the Sea" with you!
