BC AHSN sponsors access to opportunities and resources

Please note the following two opportunities made possible through the BC AHSN organization:

Apply now for sponsored attendance at CHSPR conference March 8 & 9

In our December e-newsletter, we announced that BC AHSN will be sponsoring participants to attend the Centre for Health Services and Policy Research (CHSPR) annual conference. The 2018 conference is called "The System Awakens: Building Learning Health Systems in Canada" and will take place in Vancouver on March 8 and 9, 2018.

BC AHSN will cover registration costs for up to 20 health sector partners (care providers, decision- and policy-makers and other staff). As part of this sponsorship initiative, the BC SUPPORT Unit will also be supporting attendance of 10 patient-partners (through a separate recruiting process).

We’re actively recruiting for people who are interested not just in the conference, but in also becoming part of a community of practice to bring the ideas of learning health systems more fully to BC.

If you're interested in this opportunity as a health sector partner, please fill out this short Expression of Interest form. We also encourage you to share this information with others in your network.

What is a learning health system?

A learning health system is one in which every patient interaction is treated as a learning activity, and there is a focus on continuous improvement. It is a system in which data informs policy and practice.

What will the CHSPR conference provide?

You will hear from international experts about what they are doing to make the learning health system a reality. The program will also feature speakers who will describe initiatives in BC that provide examples of different building blocks for a learning health system. There will be posters, concurrent sessions, and opportunities to meet and talk with other attendees.

For complete conference details, please see the CHSPR conference web page.
