Goyo Travel - Inspirational Journeys to Mongolia
THE WONDERS OF MONGOLIA

As we do the round of travel shows at the start of each year, we are often asked questions such as 'why Mongolia?' or 'isn't it just a flat plain of nothingness?' and 'will I have to eat sheep's head?' Whilst we can quickly set the record straight, and wax lyrical about the wonders of Mongolia, nothing quite matches the visual impact of film. With this in mind, last summer we teamed up with Ed Fousset to commission a series of short videos showcasing the unique appeal of this distant land of nomads, ancient traditions and vast, varied landscapes. Why Mongolia? Here's your answer! To view the full collection of bite-size videos on The Mongolian Horse, Cuisine, Nomadic Culture, The Ger, Landscapes, Wilderness & Adventure, head to our YouTube channel.

GOBI OASIS PROJECT

Gobi Oasis is a small tree-planting nursery project established by Byamba Tseyen in her hometown of Mandalgovi, the Gobi Desert in 1975. For over 40 years, she has been leading this conservation project by growing small seeds & branches, and nurturing them in harsh conditions, before replanting them in areas in desperate need for defence against desertification. Today, the project forms a small but vital role in the global fight to protect the natural environment which we all share.

You can visit and help out at Gobi Oasis during summer months, plus stay with Byamba and her family, as part of selected trips with Goyo Travel. Get involved in daily activities and duties to run the nursery from watering trees, keeping weeds off, to making plant beds, or removing sand. Click here to find out more about this environmental project and to see how you can get involved.
