Greetings from the Philippine Rice Research Institute! We share to you our first issue this year.
For this month, we are launching a new section in our monthly e-newsletter. The Featured Young Researcher. We aim to show you what young, and we mean those under 30, and talented researchers and development staff members are doing at PhilRice. Why are they here? Why do they love rice science for development? How are their experiences at PhilRice shaping their dreams? Join us as our millennial staff members share their stories.
In this section, we introduce to you Josefina F. Ballesteros. She works on market research in support to rice-based product development. At 24, she now leads a project and two market studies of the Rice Chemistry and Food Science Division. Read her story from this link.
This month we feature three of our retirees. They are Engr. Evangeline B. Sibayan, Engr. Eden Gagelonia, and Mr. Ruben Miranda. You, in one way or another, may have worked with them.
Meanwhile, PhilRice Executive Director Sailila E. Abdula has designated new acting deputy directors and acting branch directors. See full story from this link.
We also have good news for our farmers, researchers and extension workers! The AgriDoc App is now available for free download. This is a farm management tool for android smartphone and tablet users, which aims to improve the efficiency of farm management and rice crop production activities. Click here to download.
Lastly, we encourage you to send your suggestions for the next personality to be featured in our rice paddy art at the FutureRice Farm on this email, thefuturericeprogram@gmail.com.
We would like to hear from you. Please send us an email at prri.mail@philrice.gov.ph .
