GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR)

As we all know, the date is fast approaching when the GDPR changes are coming into place. Fines for breaching the new regulations can be in the millions of pounds and there has been a strong focus on the charity sector in recent months.
It is essential that your organisation is up to scratch and has done everything to be compliant with the new changes.
The Directory of Social Change are running a conference in partnership with Russell-Cooke in London on 6th March, which will feature a series of workshops focusing on key areas of the GDPR.

Happy belated new year to you all

The new year is now well and truly in full swing, and i'm sure it's got us all fresh on our feet thinking of new ways to develop our organisations and volunteers.

The New Year new you concept is something we are all well aware of, and is something that we, as charities and organisations, should utilise.
How can we revitalise our volunteer programme's to keep them fresh and engaging? Attracting in new volunteer's whilst keeping our current ones content?
The NCVO have a good article as part of their January 2018 volunteer roundup which strips back to basics volunteer recruitment. It's a good read, even if just to refresh yourself on things such as the equality act 2010. It's a useful tool for anyone who's about to begin a round of volunteer recruitment.
