We started the the school year with prayer. Teachers, House Moms (Tias), Office Staff and Auxiliary Staff all together before the Lord.

Praise:
Health Despite having several housemates with illnesses, we have remained healthy and will continue to take our vitamins.
Friends coming for short term mission trip those of you from 1st E Free will be excited to know that Elizabeth Cvrk and her friend Kristen will be coming to Prince of Peace to help Victoria clean, organize and re-set up the health clinic. They will be coming in mid February! They each have at least 4 years of midical training and will be put to good use.
Visa Extension We recently had to get our 90 day extension so we can stay working here in the country. All of our paperwork was in order and passports now have the necessary stamp of approval!
Prayer:
The Home and Cars still need to sell We have left them in good hands with Realtor Michele Henzie (319 231 2892)with Sulentic Fischels and our car guy, Darrell Sells at Sells Auto (319 987 3131). Please pass this info on to anyone you know that may be interested. There was an Open House today and we are waiting to hear from our realtor how it went. Thank You for continued prayers that God will lead the right family to their new home.
Safety for Elizabeth and Kristen as they travel and work in ministry here. Please pray that their hearts will be blessed and God will be glorified through their time here.
Shipping We are still looking for a company to ship our totes here at a reasonable price. We have a few different contacts. Please pray that God will provide the right one.
Perseverance:
Continued Learning Gwen is still wrestling with past tense irregular verbs & practicing with a new Spanish Bible. Darren has taken his teacher "off the grid" and is customizing his learning to be more helpful for him in construction and maintenance projects. He has been practicing by helping his teacher fix a couple of plumbing issues in his home--- so they both are learning from each other!

One of our former housemates, Hanna, is a young Human Rights Journalist. She went with us to Prince of Peace to learn more about our ministry in hopes of making a short promotional video for POP.
|
|
|
While we were back at Prince Of Peace for a weekend we were able to do some of our favorite things.
Darren: Help repair a water leak that will
help save the home over $230 a month
on the water bill.
Gwen: Love on the girls.

|
We were able to spend a couple of mornings with our church here to help package and hand out school supplies to a local public elementary school. The children were very excited and we were very blessed.
|
|
|
|
For those of you that have already started supporting us, we are truly grateful. God has been using your continued support in amazing ways. We are assured in Luke 6:38 that you will continue to be blessed by your sacrifice. God is teaching us to trust Him as He is working through all of us.

The financial gifts that were given to Prince of Peace in December have helped pay for the necessary things like electricity so the girls can do their homework at night, gas for the stoves so they have hot meals and clothes so each of them have a new pair of shoes to start the school year.
