Writers! Greetings from 2018… where things are just about as crazy/sad/absurd as 2017.

In happy news, though, Where to Pitch was featured as one of The Write Life’s 100 best sites for writers! Check out the list for tons of amazing writing resources.

Right now, I'm pitching, pitching, pitching. Since I took some time off in December, I’m still trying to build out my roster of assignments.

My goal for this year is to focus more on money and less on shiny bylines. So I’ve been pitching a lot of editors with whom I already have relationships. When it comes to cold pitches, I’ve gotten two yeses, one no, and three crickets so far. How about you?

Ooooh, and here's a tool I've recently become obsessed with: Assistant.To. (And no, they didn’t pay me to say that.) It syncs with Gmail and Google Calendar, making scheduling interviews SO easy. No more back-and-forth emails or calculating across time zones; now I just send my availability as soon as I make contact.

Ok, onto the good stuff...

Freelance Pieces We Loved

I’ve read so much incredible, important writing by women this month. Disclaimer: Not all of them are from freelancers, but all of them must be read…

To great writing,
