In the last edition of the AAO E-News, we took a look back on the most interesting stories, events, and designs of 2017. This month, an article looking to the future caught our attention. 7 Trends That Augur The Future Of Urban Design highlights the potential of things like algorithmic design, augmented reality, and new approaches to corporate campuses while also looking at issues like how water will shape the future of cities.
As we're forming the content for the upcoming Design Matters Conference (Nov. 15-18 in Seattle), we're finding that designers, planners, city officials, and community members in Seattle have found some innovative approaches to many of these same issues. For an example, look at the new Amazon Go store, designed to not require checkout lines.
