Onkaparinga Arts presents
Fridays at the Sauerbier House Arts Bar
a free family friendly event celebrating Aboriginal art and culture
with a focus on storytelling, music and dance.


Sauerbier House culture exchange -  21 Wearing Street, Port Noarlunga
A showcase of Aboriginal arts and culture, on Kaurna Country.

Over three Friday evenings in March, we will showcase predominantly local performers, many of whom have established national and international reputations.

Friday 2 March, 5–9pm - WOMEN IN WORD
Featuring Ali Cobby Eckermann, Georgina Williams, Alexis West, Celestine Rowe, Tilly Thomas, The Unbound Collective and open mic.

Friday 9 March, 5–9pm - WOMEN IN SONG 
Featuring Gail Page, Vonda Last, Jessica Wishart, Nancy Bates, Gemma Jade Theatre-Riley and Hannah Yates.

Friday 16 March, 5–9pm - WOMEN IN DANCE 
Featuring Yellaka, Of Desert and Sea, Sarah Agius, The Merindas and the Gail Page Band.

Bringing contemporary art into the Friday night spotlight - Sauerbier House will also be open so visitors can enjoy the exhibitions and engage with resident artists Tim Casiero (until 3 March) and Henry Jock Walker.

Food and drink will be available for purchase, visitors are also welcome to bring a picnic and settle in for a relaxed night out (strictly no BYO alcohol).

A photographic exhibition illuminating the Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island at hours many of us are remiss to explore, the golden hour of sunset through to the golden hour of sunrise.

The photographic body of work Skin explores the male nude and voyeurism from the aspect of the female gaze.  Skin aims to explore the interaction between the natural and unnatural, the paradox of voyeurism and motion, lucid dreaming and the similarity between the tonal ranges of the human body and the earth.

The Art Shop has relocated...
...to the foyer of the Arts Centre, and is full of handmade items and artworks by local artists.  
Artworks include jewellery, paintings, prints, pottery, feltwork and woodwork ,and new stock has just arrived!

Table Rock Surf Centre

Artist in resident Henry Jock Walker's practice commonly explores the possibilities of surfing, painting and performance through collaboration and socially inclusive events.
Henry is working in collaboration with visiting and local artists to generate TABLE ROCK SURF CENTRE . A next level community surf art project! Surfing as a catalyst for creative action and connected learning.

The opening of TABLE ROCK SURF CENTRE to be held Saturday 24 March 5.30 – 9.00 pm at Sauerbier House culture exchange .
An un-comprehensive exhibition of real and imagined South Australian wave riding history, presenting something in the form of; a surf shop, a board swap meet, outdoor film screenings, a tarp surfing competition and live music.

Tim Casiero will be sharing his knowledge of printing in one day Lino printing workshops.

Grug is moving in!

Beloved character Grug by Ted Prior is being turned into art and to celebrate the unveiling of the newest public art resident to the Storybook Walk at Thalassa Park we are having a family fun day!  

Facepainting, appearances by Elsa and Olaf, roving clowns and magicians, create your own nature crown + sausage sizzle and coffee van.
