Matthew Harrison's Movie of the Month 2018

Dear friends and fans of Matthew Harrison Films;

In 2017 we released 12 rarely (or never) seen movies from my archives. I’ve been making movies for fifty years – a ton of shorts, a bunch of features and network and cable TV shows. By popular demand, we’ve decided to continue Movie of the Month into 2018, with the release of 12 more rare films from the archives. The more we dig through the files, the more movies we find! Most of these twelve movies will be new digital restorations, released free to view on YouTube. Amazon will release some, like my rarely seen feature MY LITTLE HOLLYWOOD - complete with subtitles and Special Features!

This January, named after the Latin word for door (ianua), the door to the year and an opening to new beginnings, Harrison Films Releasing and Film Crash are proud to release my 1985 experimental animated film EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. This iconic skyscraper, which featured prominently in the early days of my life, was framed in a beautiful view when I stepped out of my childhood home at 185 Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village. EMPIRE STATE BUILDING is shot on video in Chelsea from a flipbook series of color stills taken during a walk up Fifth Avenue. The movie has a run time of 15 seconds and features a score by the great John Horn (RHYTHM THIEF). This screening of EMPIRE STATE BUILDING is a World Premiere.

We hope our second 12-month cinematic excursion through celluloid (and video) will be as much fun for you as we have making these movies.
