Ash Wednesday soup supper. Who would have expected Ash Wednesday to coincide with Valentine's Day? We hope you'll come and warm your hearts with hot soup and great fellowship on Wednesday, February 14. Everyone is invited to bring either a crock pot of soup or some sandwiches, chips or cornbread. We'll gather at 6:00 p.m. for dinner before the Ash Wednesday Service at 7:00. This is such a great way to start off our Lenten journey as a church family, and we hope to see you all there!
Torchy's with Taylor. Join Taylor after church this Sunday, February 11, for Torchy's! She will pick up the chips and queso, so please bring money for any other food you'd like to eat. This is a middle and high school event.
Cooking oil for GRACE. Need doesn't end when the giving season ends. Please remember the ongoing commitment to the GRACE Food Pantry by bringing in one or more 48 oz. bottles of cooking oil to help those in need.
Save the date! Our eighth annual Great Day of Service will be Saturday, May 5. It's a day we come together to serve our community while enjoying the fellowship of members, friends and neighbors. There will be multiple projects, indoors and outdoors, for people of all ages (including children) and talents. If you would like to help plan the day, there will be a meeting on Sunday, February 18, at 9:15 a.m.
Volunteer opportunities. We have several needs for volunteers currently:
  1. Worship assistants and volunteers. As we begin two services we are in need of more worship assistants and volunteers for each service. Please email Vanessa for more information.
  2. Meal preparation. We are in need of a few more people to prepare and deliver meals to elderly, sick, and recovering. For more information, please contact Margaret Anderson.
  3. Sunday School substitute teachers are needed. If you are interesting in helping in our classes, please contact Taylor.
  4. Youth nursery volunteers. Are you in 7th – 12th grade and interested in volunteering in the nursery on Sundays? If you can help please contact Kathy Humen or the church office.
25 briskets were smoked by our Men's Group last weekend. All proceeds were donated to GRACE and the Presbyterian Night Shelter. Thanks, men!
Keep in prayer. Please keep the following people in your prayers: Samantha, Ron, Sandy, Debbie, Alan, Jerry, LaRue, Gary, Pam, Lorraine, Berniece, Buddy, Landon, Darla, Curtis, Cyndi, Esther, Brenda and Kelly, Joan, Virginia, Gabe, Sean, Gae, Peters family, Adam, Bria, Troy, Jett, Jillian, and Melva.

Members had the priviledge of singing for (and with!) Curtis at the Piper home last Sunday. Heidi writes that "words can barely express our gratitude to the choir for performing a few of our favorite hymns for us at our home this past Sunday. We felt the presence of God in our midst. Thanks and God bless each of you." Here is a video of one hymn...
