"A Special Thank You to Tom Taylor"
Happy New Year and Greetings Taylor Insurance Group Agents,
Some of you may not know on December 18, 2017, to my great and absolute surprise at the Taylor Insurance Group Christmas luncheon gathering I was awarded the distinguished honor of being Tom's pick as "agent of the year" for Taylor Insurance Group. With that prestigious honor came a one-week stay at his beautiful fully-equipped condo in Hilton Head Island, SC. When I asked what week I would be going, Tom stated December 24th thru December 31st. What Tom didn't know at the time was that I had not celebrated Christmas since 2011, reason being because my beautiful mother passed away on Christmas day that year and I had just not been able to celebrate Christmas since. Therefore my very first reaction was I told Tom I couldn't go; however my sister Linda also attended the luncheon with me and quickly pulled me off to the side and asked, "are you crazy, why can't you go?" and I simply looked at her and said I can never do Christmas again...my sister then said, "heck, if mommy was here you know she would go" because our mother loved to travel and did so frequently. With that thought, I very quickly got my mind right and stepped over to Tom and told him - YES, I'll be happy and honored to take that trip and then thanked him for selecting me!
Those in attendance had a great lunch, great atmosphere, and some great company to mingle and dine with that afternoon and it was a great way to start the holiday season. As it went on the trip, I had a marvelous and restful week in Hilton Head and have included a few pictures of the condo and a few places I visited while there. Tom, thank you again for giving me Christmas back!
The Calendar for January
January 25 9:30 -3:30 Atlanta ALL AGENT MEETING / CANTON HOUSE
Agency Directive from Heartland National Life Insurance Company
Agency Directive #1145
TO: All Heartland Agents in Georgia FROM: Dennis Taylor, President DATE: January 16, 2018 SUBJECT: Rates on Medicare Supplement Plans (Policy Forms GA 90050 Modernized)
We recently filed and received approval from the state insurance department for rate adjustments to our Georgia Modernized Medicare Supplement plans. We will begin notifying policyowners of their new rates soon and wanted you to have advance notice of this action. The GA 90050 Modernized plans are receiving a 15% increase for all Plans. These changes will take effect 04/01/2018.
Heartland strives to ensure that our policyowners enjoy true "freedom of choice" in their health care under Medicare while federal lawmakers continue to ignore the need to reform this entitlement program to meet the future needs of an increasing beneficiary population. Consequently, we are ever mindful of our obligation to keep our promise of freedom of choice to our policyowners and at the same time sustain these blocks of business with adequate premiums over their lifetime.
We intend to maintain our continuing commitment to our policyowners of providing them with the very best in insurance protection along with the superior, friendly personalized customer service they and you have come to expect and rely upon.
These are not plan forms currently being marketed and do not affect your new business.
Click here for a copy of our letter to policyowners explaining the reasons for these adjustments.
If you have questions, please contact Agency at 816-655-5078 or Policyowner Service at 1-866-916-7971.

Medicare is taking steps to remove Social Security numbers from Medicare cards. Through this initiative the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will prevent fraud, fight identity theft and protect essential program funding and the private healthcare and financial information of our Medicare beneficiaries.
New cards will begin being sent to people with Medicare benefits in April 2018. All Medicare cards will be replaced by April 2019. The rollout will be by region.
To make this change easier for providers and beneficiaries, there is a 21-month transition period where all healthcare providers will be able to use either the new Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) or the old Health Insurance Claim Number (HICN) for billing purposes.
CMS will have a website, is sending out handbooks to all beneficiaries and will have call centers trained to answer question from beneficiaries and providers.
Here are a few pictures from our All Agents meeting this Month.
See you in January for the next one!
