Collective Fire Starting in Scotland - it’s the whoosh moment!
With just a week until the launch of the Fire Starter Festival, we wanted to take this opportunity to  send out a huge thank you to all the fire starters , from all around the country who have taken the opportunity to share their ideas, innovations,  with a willingness to disrupt the norm!

We wanted to acknowledge that’s not always easy to try out something different or invite a conversation around something that really matters, so before any fires are lit, a great big thank you for your engagement and fiery spirit!
We are astonished that collectively we have produced almost 70 events; twice as many as last year, with many being hosted by diverse partnerships exploring how we can think creatively around the design and delivery of services, crucially working with those who use services.

It’s also great to see events happening all over Scotland, allowing fire starters to join from Kirkwall to Kilmarnock.

A huge thank you to all of you who are supporting events by registering and attending with an openness and willingness to share, learn  and create the public services of the future.
We wanted to take this opportunity to thank our speakers for The Silent Launch – Fiona Duncan, CEO, The Corra Foundation and Chair of the Care Review, Jo Holton, Program Manager of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at The University of Edinburgh, Kate Polson Chief Executive, Rock Trust, Liam Murray, Graduate Building Surveyor, City Property (Glasgow) LLP, MCR volunteer mentor and Young Scot Award 2017 Finalist and Katie Slavin, Founder of Shining Stars Theatre School and Young Scot Award 2016 finalist who we know will play a big part in setting the tone for this years' festival.

We also wanted to acknowledge the efforts that the Young Scot Digital Apprentices and all the staff from Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum have put into making the Launch into a  potentially spectacular event not just for the Fire Starter Festival, but for the Year of Young People.

If you haven’t had a chance to support your local fire starters it’s not too late to sign up and view the full programme of events on our Eventbrite page.
We have an incredibly busy programme for Fire Starter Festival 2018, and we know that not everyone can go to every event during the fortnight, so why not join us at The Beehive for cross-pollination!

This is a fantastic opportunity to reflect on learning from all the events during FSF and consider how this cross-pollination could lead to new ideas and innovation. Together we can ignite the creativity needed to make Scotland the best place for all young people to thrive.
Looking forward seeing you all starting fires over the next few weeks.
