EchidnaCSI Update

If you haven't already please like us on Facebook!
This is the best place to ask any questions, post photos and videos and follow the project along!

Thanks to an article published on the Atlas of Living Australia blog (and shared by CSIRO!), hundreds more Australians have joined the EchidnaCSI family this past fortnight. We are thrilled to have so many people on board, and we look forward to seeing all of your submissions!
In other news, EchidnaCSI received its 1000th submission last week, and our Facebook page has reached over 500 likes. Thank you all for being part of EchidnaCSI - we can't wait to see where the project will take us!

Below is important news for you.

There are now even more ways to submit a sighting with the new BioCollect mobile app

While we encourage everyone to use our app, sometimes it can be tricky to snap a live photo of an echidna and submit it on the go. If you would like to submit previously-taken photos or sightings without photos, you can do so through our BioCollect page. And now that BioCollect has their very own mobile app, this process is even easier!

Photo of the month

Thanks Cecilia for sending in this amazing photo! This brave echidna had been trying to cross a road. Thanks to some kind citizens, it made it across safe and sound.

Free Lecture at #CitSciOz18

The Australian Citizen Science Convention 2018 is coming up soon - it will be held from Wednesday the 7th - Friday the 9th of February at UniSA, City West Campus, in Adelaide. We have some good news - even if you don't manage to get your hands on some tickets, you will still be able to attend a free public lecture on the Thursday evening! The lecture will be presented by Dr Caren Cooper and Amy Robinson Stirling from EyeWire, and will be all about Citizen Science.

🚨 Competition Alert! 🚨

As many of you go away over the long weekend, you may come across more echidnas than usual.

In light of this, we have decided to create a little competition - whoever submits the cutest echidna photo over the long weekend will have it featured in the next newsletter!

So get snapping away, folks!

All the best, from EchidnaCSI
