Fundraising for the School Library Has Begun!
The school has set a goal to raise $50,000 to make improvements to the Midway School Library! We're hoping to purchase new colorful, kid-friendly furniture and add more book displays that encourage kids to get excited about reading. We also plan to purchase more books for the library - you can share your kids' favorite authors and books/series on our survey here.
Our committee is applying for grants to help get us to this number, but we need your help too!
Donate to this important project that will enhance learning for all students at our school. Students and parents can also donate coins and cash to fundraising jars that will be in the main office.
Below are some sample pictures - what we're able to do will be determined by how much we can raise for the library.

Book Fair Recap
Last week's book fair was a huge success! Thanks to all who purchased items - profits totaled $3,500 in Scholastic dollars that will be used to purchase high quality, library-bound books for the school library in the next few weeks. Parents also purchased and donated $400 worth of library-bound books for the library at the book fair. Thanks to the volunteers who helped the book fair run smoothly!
We are already on our way toward meeting the library fundraising goal with this great start. Click here to donate funds for the library improvements!
Wrangler Reading, Week 1
 Our annual month-long Wrangler Reading program kicked off last Friday!
Week 1 Forms:
If your child forgot to bring his/her Wrangler Reading paper home or was absent on Friday, you can view and print this week's form in English and in Spanish. (just be sure you print the correct form for your child's grade). *Please note, the pages change every week and are different according to grade.
Turn in Reading Slips on Fridays:
Every Friday, please make sure your child turns in his/her Wrangler Reading page with a parent signature. We want every child in our school to get excited about reading and have a great time at our carnival, so please encourage your child to participate! You may need to help younger students calculate their tickets earned on the form.
Wrangler Reading Events:
We have some fun events coming up in February to encourage reading! (Grandparents/other family members/friends can fill in too).
At Dads & Donuts and Moms & Muffins, parents bring a book or two, enjoy a pastry and bond with their kids while reading together in the school gym before school.
Tues., Feb. 6 - Dads & Donuts from 8-8:40 a.m.
Tues., Feb. 13 - Moms & Muffins from 8-8:40 a.m.
Mon., Feb. 26 - Wrangler Reading Carnival (during school)

If you haven't linked your Smith's card to Midway Elementary yet, we encourage you to do so! Every dollar spent at Smith’s makes a difference to our school.
1) Go to smithsfoodanddrug.com
2) Click in the Community tab, then Inspiring Donations link
3) Sign in to your Online Account, or create an account
4) Find and select “Midway Elementary School” in Utah as the local nonprofit organization which you would like to support. Our Nonprofit Organization # is: TI925
5) Must be renewed every year.
Lee's Marketplace:
Do you shop at Lee's? After you check out, write "Midway" on the back of your receipt and drop it in the School Cents box located near the main doors as you exit the store. It's super easy and will earn money for our school!
