It is now possible to register for the AMC training and a pre-heat in February to select the best candidates for the Amsterdam UvA heat.

FameLab International is an exciting competition in communication with the general public and the media. 
The International Final brings together people from all over the world to share their passion for science. A National Final is held to choose the country winner who will compete in the International Final. In all, 10 to 12 national finalists are selected through (pre-)heats held across the country. All participants get media and communication skills training. 

Science after tomorrow

This year’s APROVE Science Night will be all about futuristic
topics in the field of science, from robotics to designer babies. 
On the 13^th of April we will elucidate these matters in De Balie in Amsterdam.
Tickets include dinner, drinks and party and will be available soon, make sure you don’t miss out!

Looking for new buddies

Starting PhD candidates, especially those from other countries, may encounter difficulties in adjusting to a foreign culture or becoming accustomed to working at the AMC. The AMC Graduate School has initiated a Buddy Project for support. Buddies are experienced AMC PhD candidates who are motivated to help other PhD candidates. Due to nearing graduation of current buddies, the AMC Graduate School is looking for new buddies. Please contact PhD Study Advisor Kirsten Douma if you would like to volunteer as a buddy.

Who is Who

The AMC-VUmc Alliance Research Institutes and the AMC Graduate School ask all PhD candidates to complete their Who-is-Who page and thus register with a research theme. We need this information to contact you, but we did not register your research theme at the start of your project. Help us, and make
yourself and your research more visible to other researchers! 

Survey Graduate School

Beginning of 2018 you’ll receive a short survey (4 min) on how you think the AMC Graduate school is doing. Every year the Graduate school uses your feedback to become better. This questionnaire, which takes place every 5 years, is an important tool to evaluate this! To improve your life as PhD, fill in the survey by January 30th!

A complete experience for your career! 

Are you ready for a complete experience? To come into direct contact with 100 employers and other career enhancing parties on one day, on one location? Join BCF Career Event on 24 May in Beatrix building - Jaarbeurs Utrecht.
Besides meeting employers on the exhibition floor, you are also able to participate in a programme filled with interesting presentations, workshops and career support activities. This event is for job seekers and students in Life Sciences on different levels: (PhD)-students, postdocs and (young) professionals.

UvA385 Grants
 
We would like to inform you that the Second application round for UvA385 grants started 8 January 2018. PhD candidates who would like to acquire additional international experience are welcome to apply for the UvA385 grants untill 2 April.
 
It would be appreciated if you’d communicate about this when possible. More information can be obtained via this webpage.
