We Are GCVS - January 2018 Update
View this email in your browser

Welcome to the GCVS January 2018 Newsletter!

We have lots planned at GCVS this year, so we are really looking forward to continuing our support for members, and representing Third Sector views and interests in Glasgow.

The Third Sector Summit held on the 11th of December was a great success and provided a real opportunity to begin a meaningful dialogue between Glasgow’s Third Sector and Glasgow City Council, identifying key priorities and opportunities for collaboration. If you haven’t read it already, Kathleen Caskie of the Third Sector Forum has written an informative article on the event, while Glasgow City Council has also prepared a report on the event.

As I’m sure you will all be aware, there are big changes taking place this year around data protection and the deadline to be GDPR compliant is the 25th of May. These changes mean we have to be absolutely certain that those on our mailing lists still want to receive content from us and as a result we will be asking you to re-subscribe in the coming months, so keep an eye out for that.
For now, this excellent resource from Culture Republic is a good guide but we will be looking at advice and information for our Members in the lead up to May to help keep you updated with what you need to know.

Wishing you all a splendid year!
Liz McEntee
Director of External Affairs
