You are invited to the next community meeting of the Northeast Big Data for Education Spoke. The event will be held on February 16, 2018, from 9 am - 4:30 pm at the MIT Office of Open Learning. The day will start with a morning keynote by MIT's Dr. Justin Reich, followed by afternoon activities that include a workshop on the Co-Design Lab: The 2018 Learning Analytics Challenge led by George Mu, and a tutorial on Educational Data Mining taught by Dr. Amy Nurnberger and Dr. Ryan Baker.

This competition seeks to encourage women to apply their knowledge in a predictive analytics challenge, using data collected by InterMedia’s Financial Inclusion Insights (FII) program. Participants will analyze the data and build machine learning and statistical models, using their preferred data analysis methods and tools. The WiDS Datathon competition will be hosted by Kaggle.

The Global Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and support women in the field.
