Delay on the updated Common Rule effective date
On January 17, 2018, 16 federal departments and agencies filed an Interim Final Rule (IFR) titled “Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects: Delay of the Revisions to the Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects”. This IFR delays both the effective and compliance date of the revised Common Rule to July 19, 2018. UD’s IRB Office will continue preparation for the adoption of the updated rule, and changes will be announced to the UD research community prior to their implementation. In the meantime, UD IRB policies and procedures remain unaffected.
