• 10:10 a.m. Call to Order – Charlie Wallin
• Approval of Agenda -- Charlie Wallin. Motion to approve by Cliff Moone (Catawba), motion was seconded by April Ruffin-Adams (Forsyth), no discussion. The agenda was approved by acclamation.
• Jodie Feimster, Secretary, declared a quorum.
• There was a motion made to accept the August 5, 2017 meeting minutes by Cliff Moone. (Catawba). The motion was seconded by Mike Sprinkle (Alexander). No discussion followed. The minutes were approved by acclamation.
• Bailey Stinson, Treasurer, presented the treasurer’s report as follows:
  • Balance: $1,692.76, outstanding invoice pertaining to October dinner meeting in the amount of $ 341.66 was handed to her;
  • She also confirmed that the online donation button has been installed.
• Minority Affairs Report by John Gladman, MAL

• Recapture the attention of rural voters, step up precinct meetings and voter registration, develop inclusive methods and practice them.

• Plan of Organization Report by Cliff Moone

• Executive Committee must vote on amendments; practice of sending them back to review committee is redundant.
• Auxiliary and caucus amendments will be held to the second meeting of the year as they require considerable discussion.
• December 17, 2017 is the last POO Review Committee meeting.
• Anticipate a change in notice requirements. Amendments are listed as a title. Content of amendments will be online. Committee members are encouraged to review them and go to meetings prepared to discuss and share ideas.

• Democrat National Committee Report by Cliff Moone

• Effort to create a balance of men and women delegates;
• Resolution re: Confederate monuments in NC;
• The DNC is making efforts to restructure its previous top-down organization;
• No substance to the “Purge the Bernie Folks” rumor.

• There was no Social Media Report. Mandy Marxen, 3rd Vice Chairperson, was unable to attend.

• Strategic Plan 2017-2019 (SP) was presented by April Ruffin-Adams, along with an implementation guide.

• Cliff Moone motioned to accept the SP, John Goodman seconded the motion. The documents were approved by acclamation. Discussion of both documents included suggested changes of a few words and opinions regarding FF element the SP. April Ruffin-Adams will edit the SP to reflect those changes and distribute to the County Chairs. 
• Charlie Wallin encouraged Chairs to implement the SP to the best of their abilities.

• Jenny Marshall, candidate in the Democratic primary race for NC 5^th District, presented a concise report on the progress of her campaign. She has opened an office in her home, has secured endorsements by Sister Giant, Brand New Congress and Justice Democrats. 

• Christine Behrend (Watauga) reminded the attendees that she and Ian are available for Vote Builder training and troubleshooting.  

• Discussion of future Executive Committee meetings included proposed dates and location for the next Executive Committee meeting, possible EC conference call meetings and midweek meetings in the future. The attendees agreed upon Saturday, February 10, 2018 Forsyth County Democratic Party Headquarters, 1128 Birch Street, Winston-Salem, NC. 9:30 Registration, 10:00 – 12:00 meeting.
