Do you like my hat? I don't. There's a story about me in this month's newsletter. I'm not happy about that either.

Hi Friend,

Our January newsletter is packed with 'net news and great deals for your business!

The .IE Domain Registry rules are changing in March - find out what it means for you.

The Blacknight Podcast is now available on Apple Podcasts (iTunes). This week on the show Michele Neylon explains how GDPR will affect 'Whois' services.

We've launched a new affiliate programme for website owners to earn commission on referrals, and we're also hiring for our technical support team - but hurry: the closing date is tomorrow. Finally: news in brief.

Using our services? Why not take a couple of minutes to review us on TrustPilot?

Now is a good time to consider your branding and domain strategy, as the rules for registering a .IE domain name will change in March.

Final Call: Claim your IE Domain Name

There are just weeks to go until the new rules for .IE domain names take effect. From March, it will be easier to register an IE domain name, as registrants will no longer be required to give a reason why they want a particular name (though they will still have to prove a connection to Ireland).

We've written about the implications and opportunities of this change for business.

Right now, if you have a claim to a particular .IE domain name, it puts you in pole position when it comes to registering it. That doesn’t mean that you have to register every possible name you can think of related to your business. But it does mean that now is a good time to consider your branding and domain strategy.

Why ‘Whois’ Must be Fixed to Comply with GDPR

'Whois' data is the personal information of individuals or companies who register domain names. For historical reasons, domain registries and registrars have been contractually obliged to collect this data, and to make it publicly available to anyone who wants to query it.

All that must change with the advent of GDPR. Our CEO Michele Neylon explains the issues involved in the latest edition of The Blacknight Podcast.

The Blacknight Podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, or via RSS.
