On January 6, 2018, Otto Henning, long time dancer and friend to many, hung up his “Opanka’s” for the last time.
Otto was one of the small number of men who could dance beautifully and make his partners look good too! He participated in folk dancing groups in Vancouver, Burnaby, and Surrey, British Columbia. Otto was a very popular partner as he seemed to make dancing look easy as he “sang and laughed” – an “ever patient partner!”
When his children were small some came and danced much to our delight! And on occasion we were treated to a solo piano performance by his daughter, Barbie, who wasn’t tall enough to see the keyboard. He was so very proud of them all.
I expect he will continue dancing with equal enthusiasm in the “next world”!
OPAH, Otto! Until we dance again.
