Good Morning,

Since last September we have been promoting the launch of a 2nd trade show event in Austin, TX.  After visiting the week before Christmas though, it became very clear that Austin was not going to work, at least for the initial 2019 or 2020 shows.  This conclusion involved a combination of factors – mainly date conflicts with other chemical industry events, hotel pricing, and the meeting space itself not flowing correctly for what we’re looking to do.

However, thanks to some timely input from one of our Charleston exhibitors, we believe we’ve found the right answer at the
Omni Hotel in Fort Worth, Texas.  Many of us, myself included, might only know of Fort Worth as that somewhat obscure second-half of the Dallas airport name, but it’s the 16th largest city by population in the US.  Like Charleston, Fort Worth offers a small-town charm and walkable downtown, with big-city amenities and numerous quality restaurants, shopping, and other cultural attractions.

Known as the
City of Cowboys and Culture, Fort Worth has a distinctive "Old Western Heritage" feel, with its daily cattle drives and year-round rodeo.  Our event scouting team agrees this city is a hidden gem, that we know will be a GREAT fit for our new chemical industry event.

For accessibility, Fort Worth is a 4-hour drive from the Houston area chemical industry, and about 30 minutes from DFW and Dallas Love Field airports.  Having both airport options will offer 4-5 times the number of direct flights per day compared to Austin or San Antonio, from 200+ non-stop destinations across the US and internationally (e.g., Daily Directs: Atlanta = 29, Boston = 9, Charlotte = 12, Chicago = 26, Detroit = 11, NYC/Newark = 37, Philadelphia = 10, St. Louis = 14, Washington DC = 22).

Some have asked about the profile of this second event, and how we see it fitting with the very successful September show.  The event name has been modified to include "Custom" instead of "Agro", which we think will attract a slightly broader audience of companies working in the
Specialty, Custom, Fine and Industrial Chemical markets, while still maintaining the focus on North American business.

More details will follow in the coming weeks, as our web development and design teams are working to have the new show website ready by mid-February.  Exhibitor registration is scheduled to open by March 1, with attendee registration opening in early May.  We’ll also be communicating a priority system for exhibitors, sponsors, and waiting list companies who currently participate at the September show in Charleston.

Our team is excited for this new opportunity to bring our niche of the chemical industry together for a 2nd time each year!  For a preview of the new Texas website, check out the link below, or feel free to contact me with any questions:

Thank you,
