Virginia's top tips to keep active in your job search
The job market can be overwhelming and disheartening at times, however a bit of focus and keeping active in your search will eventually see you getting your dream role:
- Revisit your resume and check it reflects your skills, capabilities and experience whilst being easy to read.
- Follow up with recruiters, companies and networks that you had previous contact with to let them know you are still interested in opportunities.
- Make sure your job alerts are set up as well as job alerts from companies that you are interested in.
- Do some research on target companies and see if you can identify key contacts or potential referrals/introductions through your network.
- Have your ‘interview outfits’ dry cleaned and ready for meetings.
- Set yourself some goals around how many proactive meetings you want to achieve each week even if just an informal coffee catch up; these informal catch ups can provide you with useful information, tips or leads to that new job.
- Keep your focus on your goal, however don’t forget to take some time out and enjoy yourself so you feel refreshed and energized to start that new job soon!
