Newsflash!
Dialogue Practice Group Facilitation Training on 7th September 2017
Drawing from group host training event
On 7th September we held our first Practice Group Facilitator Training day in central Edinburgh, the day was designed with the method mirroring the content in mind. There was a combination of experiential learning, individual reflection and dialogue.

The intention was to all participants to be more aware of their own Dialogue Practice in perpetration for hosting a Dialogue Practice Group. The day was well received, with participants enjoying the application of theory to personal practice with the added bonus of a head start in how to put their Practice Group offer out into the wider system.

Participants said that they felt more confident about what being a Practice Group Facilitator would entail and how to move forward positively to the next steps and actions in gathering a group together.

One of the participants has now shared their Facilitator Profile on Knowledge Hub, inviting notes of interest in taking part in a Practice Group via KHub. Two more participants are in discussion how they might work together taking their learning forward, while practising using dialogue in their work.

If you would like to learn more about how facilitated dialogue sessions could help you or your team, you might be interested to watch this short video about facilitated work we have been progressing with Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership.

Dialogue in Practice

A practice group for those who want to move forward in how Dialogue supports their individual development as well at the services and/or teams they work with.

The purpose of the group sessions is to build on previous training by inviting group members to be in dialogue with each other and reflect on their practice. We will explore together how to move from the theory and concepts of Dialogue into taking action in the workplace.

The sessions will be held by either Margaret Williamson or Donata Caira, both are experienced Dialogue Practitioners and committed to using dialogue as a way to generate better outcomes and sustainable change for public services.

Donata Caira is a Leadership and Organisational Development consultant with 30 years of experience working in cross-sector businesses. The keystone to Donata’s focus is to help leaders develop and nurture supportive, yet robust networks of relationships within the organisation that will sustain personal, team and organisational change.

Margaret Williamson is an experienced organisation development consultant, coach and dialogue facilitator. She has been Director of Boardroom Development Limited, an independent strategy and organisation development consulting practice, for the past 24 years. Margaret is accredited in Structural Dynamics and the use of the Kantor Behavioural Propensities Profiling Instrument.

The format for the sessions:

Webinar

Join Leadership Links webinar “Introduction to Dialogue Concepts” by Sharon Millar, Principal Lead, OD Leadership & Learning on Tuesday 27th March 2018.

Conversation is an essential tool for managers and leaders to enhance performance.   We talk and listen all the time, so how come we don't always get the results we expected?  In messy complex situations where everyone has a view but no-one has the answer, what helps us reach creative collaborative solutions?

In this webinar we will explore the theory underpinning dialogue; help you assess the pattern in conversations; and help you identify what is needed to enhance your effectiveness in conversation with others.
