Training Scholars. Making Disciples. Graduating Leaders.

A Word From Dr. A

After hearing from astronaut Jeff Williams last week, we were all ready to head to space! It was fascinating for our students to hear about life aboard the International Space Station (ISS) and see dazzling pictures of Earth taken from the orbiting ISS! He really inspired our students to study diligently and appreciate the wisdom and intricate beauty of God's creation all around us.

Appropriately following a visit from an astronaut was KHCS's annual Science Fair.  Students in grades 8-10 displayed projects they had been working on for peers, parents, and judges.  Two winners from each grade will move on to compete in a statewide competition and the chance to compete at the AACS national competition.  We'll keep you updated on their progress!

Thank you to so many of you who gave feedback on the Digital Learning Day (DLD) we had recently.  The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and helps us know what you value and appreciate. We will be having another planned DLD on February 20 as a result of missing several instructional days in the fall for Hurricane Irma and two more last month for ice. Teachers will announce DLD assignments in advance of the weekend and students will have a whole week to accomplish them.  We intend this time to make up for some of the lost instructional time and refine our DLD processes.  Furthermore, we intend to do a DLD in the event we miss any more school days this year because of weather.

Finally, I hope you will come to attend the benefit concert this Saturday evening with Christian singer Steve Green. There is still time to get tickets so come join us for a great evening of music in support of our High School Choir and their Carnegie Hall trip!

Proclaiming Him,
Dr. A
