REFLECTIONS:

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:

Ours is an important witness to the classical regimens of the Catholic faith. The daily Mass, the public recitation of the offices of Morning and Evening Prayer, compassionate outreach to the poor and needy, visitation of the sick and the encouragement to prayerfully examine our lives against the standard of Jesus message about the Father’s will for creation is a blessing to be shared. God blesses us with a rich variety of people and experience to employ in the cooperation with each other for the promotion of God’s Kingdom. Let it be our hope and prayer that as we live into those blessings others will be drawn through us to the one who is both Blessing and Light – Christ Jesus our Lord.

As we grow into the place that God images St. Paul’s to be, I continue to encourage each and every one to take advantage of the many opportunities we have available through the worship and ministries of this blessed place. Every one of us needs to be stretched and challenged in our mutual life in Christ and this can only happen when we set time and space aside to intentionally pursue our relationships with each other and God. The steady drumbeat of worship, ministry, and activities which mark our life together are made richer and stronger the more of us are involved.

The strength of the Parish is grounded in our reliance on God. This is fed by placing ourselves before the word of God as found in Scripture and participating in the holy mysteries of the Sacraments. Through word and sacrament, God can do amazing things with the gifts that are ours by God’s hand. The Church is strongest when it is most vulnerable. Learning to take chances in the furtherance of God’s Kingdom, requires opening our hearts and minds to the reality of God’s love for us and creation. We are a very fortunate community of baptized blessed by many gifts and perspectives on the Christian life, work, and witness. I am most grateful to all of you for making your gifts part of our common work for the One who makes everything possible, our Lord Jesus. WWIII
