2017/8 Youth Report and Right to Education campaign
We have launched a campigan to coincide with our new Youth Report on the need for having a legal course of action if the right to education is violated. It has received endorsements from people from over 110 countries so far. Based on the core recommendation in the 2017/8 GEM Report, the campaign is backed by nine youth ambassadors and over 15 national and international organizations.
This campaign will be presented to the SDG Education 2030 Steering Committee at the end of February calling for its support.

Upcoming 2018 Gender Review
The GEM Report’s 2018 Gender Review will be launched at an event in New York on March 8, International Women’s Day, in partnership with UNGEI and the MalalaFund. The launch will be co-hosted by Women Deliver and Deliver for Good. There will also be other launch events in Paris at UNESCO’s headquarters, in Brasilia, at the Pan-African Ministerial Meeting in Nairobi, and at the CIES conference in Mexico.

New policy paper on results-based financing
To mark the occasion of the Global Partnership for Education financing conference, the GEM Report has produced a new policy paper on the challenges of results-based financing. It argues that donors should be cautious with a financing practice that shifts the risk to countries that are least prepared to bear it, and may contradict the principle of country ownership.

Look out also for two other policy papers appearing in the next three months on:
- financing global public goods in education
- boys’ education
