Newsletter, Winter 2018

Happy February, Everybunny!

February is here! It's "Adopt a Rescued Rabbit" month, and our annual Rabbit Day celebration is coming up. There are also some exciting announcements for this winter and spring. We have a great year planned, so be sure to mark your calendars!

Rabbit Day 2018! Sunday, February 25!

Save the date! Join us for our 11th annual Rabbit Day! This year our theme will be the ABCs of Being a Bunny, and we will be launching our new community program - Books and Bunnies. There will be displays and mini-classes throughout the afternoon on topics regarding rabbits as indoor pets. Local shelters will bring adoptable rabbits to the event. We will also be raising funds with local vendors to support rescue. We would love to see you and your friends and family at the event!

Our new Books and Bunnies program will engage young readers by letting them reading books of their choice to our bunnies. Books and bunnies will allow children to foster a relationship through a relaxed atmosphere, so that our very social bunnies will feel comfortable approaching the children to receive love and attention.

Announcing the Triangle Rabbits Agility Club!

Does your bunny love to hop, skip, and jump? If so, our new agility club may be perfect for her! Our first meeting will be held on Sunday, March 25, at 2pm at AniMall Pet Adoption and Outreach Center. This meeting will be informational. We’ll go over positive reinforcement, basic training commands and the layout of the course. This is a great way to bond with your bunny, meet fellow rabbit lovers and watch adorable bunnies show off their skills!

Volunteer with us in 2018!

Have you been thinking about volunteering with rabbits in our community?

You can be a Triangle Rabbits Bunny Butler at AniMall Pet Adoption and Outreach Center in Cary. Volunteers help the bunnies in this program by giving love and affection, delivering fresh salad, and getting them out for exercise time. Upcoming volunteer trainings on Tuesday, February 20 at 6:30pm and Saturday, March 3 at 11:30am.

The SPCA of Wake County is looking for Bunny Taxi drivers to take the rabbits to/from their vet appointments and help transport rabbits from other rescues or shelters when space is available.

The Critter Cuddlers at the Wake County Animal Center help care for the rabbits and other small animals. Critter Cuddlers supervise exercise time and give lots of love and attention.

If you are interested in helping with any of these wonderful programs, let us know by emailing info@trianglerabbits.org. After a volunteer orientation, new volunteers can dive right in!
