Spice Notes : World Spice Merchants
Taste of Persia
We've had many sign ups since the newsletter, so here is an updated RSVP list. Join us tomorrow night for the first Cookbook Club Meet & Eat of 2018!

We first saw this book on Epicurious.com's list of must-have cookbooks for Fall 2017, and we've been fans ever since. Author Tieghan Gerard is regularly praised for her creative recipes, wonderful photographs and fun story-telling style. This book has all that and more.

From Epicurious: "Despite what you might think from the title, this is no collection of plant-based or paleo dishes—instead, recipes veer from Braised Pork Tamale Burrito Bowls to Crispy Buffalo Quinoa Bites with no logic other than flat-out good taste."

Next Up: Kaukasis
With Kaukasis by Olia Hercules, the World Spice Cookbook Club is undertaking its first author repeat. Kaukasis does for the cuisine of the Caucasus, what Hercules' Mamushka did for the food of Eastern Europe. Full of stunning photographs evocative of the region, this book is a celebration, weaving personal narratives and recipes for a little known cuisine that combines European and Middle Eastern ingredients in ways that are fresh, new, and totally unexpected.

While you are enjoying the book, experiment with our favorite blends from the region, Khumeli Suneli and Svaneti Salt, both featured in the book, and Kharcho.
