Dear Praying Brothers and Sisters,

Our plane tickets have been bought! We will be back in the states from March 14th to August 15th for the birth of our second child.  The doctor is 99% sure we’re having a boy! It is hard to believe we only have five more weeks before we take off. Thank you to those that have contacted us about meetings. We will now be working on getting a schedule together and getting back with you all. We are looking forward to reconnecting with everyone.

We have some great news to share! Tim’s stomach has been doing amazingly well despite the stress and extreme business we’ve been facing lately.  What a miracle from the Lord! As you recall we had to return to the States last year to try and find a cure, but returned without answers. When we returned to PNG almost immediately the attacks returned. After much prayer and research we put him on a somewhat unusual diet. Praise the Lord it worked! It turns out he has an extreme intolerance to nightshades.  That means he can no longer eat potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, paprika, and a few other things. Between those restrictions and Leandra’s gluten intolerance we aren’t exactly sure what to eat anymore. But we are so happy for the first time since he was a child he no longer has pain!

Praise God term one has got off to a wonderful start with 19 new students attending. We now have a national president at GBBC, Pastor Jack Gundu. This has been a goal that seemed so far off, but God made it possible in ways we could never have imagined.  The Greek class (that Tim had been teaching) now has a new national teacher!  We are so excited to see how the Lord is working

The Lord blessed at this year’s youth camp with 26 salvation decisions and 33 other decisions made. The theme was rise up and build and we pray the youths with hold to the decision they made and make a difference for the Lord.  There were four different ministry workshops this year. Leandra taught a workshop on Sunday school. Our hope is that the youths with return and get involved in their church’s ministries.

The husbands of the three ladies at Sagifa who have made professions of faith continue to attend faithfully. Another huge answer to prayer is that Pastor Jack will be filling it at Sagifa while we are in the States. We have really seen the Lord at work as the people of Sagifa have accepted Pastor Jack with open arms.

For His glory,
Tim, Leandra, and Lydia Hawes
