Dear CYBBies,

The year is officially underway as January is done and dusted already, school is back and are events have already started! You may have noticed that our social media has also started some new things. Stay tuned as we continue our #spreadingjoychallenge and #storiesofjoy throughout the Year of Youth! We may also have a few other ideas up our sleeve but you've just have to wait to find out...

We had our first Training for the year on Saturday where we discussed the topic Engaging Young People in the Liturgical Life of the Church. Kelly and I modeled a simple liturgy that could be run in parishes, and broke open what a liturgy is and how we can get young people involved! Thanks to everyone that came along to workshop ideas for the Year of Youth!

We are extremely excited for Praisefest this Friday night where we will launch CYBB's journey to World Youth Day Panama in 2019. You don't want to miss out on this one because there will be so many amazing things on offer! (Keep an eye on Facebook for a sneak peak of what we have in store for you)

Looking forward to seeing you at our events!

God Bless
Sarah & the CYBB Team

Manly Freshwater Parish

A HUGE thank you to Manly Freshwater Parish who were the first to host the Year of Youth Cross in its pilgrimage through the Diocese!

After their Australia Day Mass, Fr Paul, Joseph and Andrew constructed the Cross, and the Cross was also present for a Mass that was celebrated with the principals and staff of 4 local schools; St Mary's Primary, St John the Baptist Primary, St Paul's College and Stella Maris College.

Please keep the community of Manly Freshwater Parish in your prayers as well as North Harbour Parish who will be the next to receive the Cross.

listen.
You probably haven't heard of him, but Br Guy Consolmagno is someone to keep in your radar! He is both a scientist, an astronomer infact, AND a Catholic working in the Vatican Observatory! Some of his books include "Would you Baptize an Extraterrestrial?" and "God's Mechanics: How Scientists and Engineers Make Sense of Religion". We are lucky enough that he is coming to visit Broken Bay later in the year, so why not listen to this podcast about him, his journey and his view on the relationship between science and religion!
read.
Do you have a copy of the Broken Bay News? It has a great letter from Bishop Peter about young people and the Year of Youth, but also a whole bunch of other articles and photos of our CYBBies at ACYF last December! Check it out here and see if you can find a photo of you or someone you know!
watch.
Hanging with Hilda was such a success at ACYF because, honestly... everyone loves Sr Hilda Scott. But did you know that she now has her own video series that you can watch every Friday night at 9pm! Check out some of the previous episodes or watch the trailer here.
