Spring...
This half term I was lucky enough to spend just over a week in Ibiza. It is amazing travelling to Southern Europe at this time of year. The weather there is as unpredictable as it is here but one thing is for sure - Spring had arrived. It made my heart swell to see the almond trees in full blossom, daisies and bluebells in our garden and carpets of Bermuda buttercups everywhere...then on our last day - a hibiscus flower!
Add into that clear blue skies, crystal seas and temperatures of up to 20 degrees and my batteries felt fully charged!
Landing back in the UK was like winding back the clock by 2 months. Waking up in Spring and going to bed in Winter. And now today in the UK - snow!
There are no magical yogic insights coming at the end of this ramble...just a simple observation of how marvellous it all is; the sky, the flowers, warmth, cold, nature, the cycle of the year, snow...it never gets old and never ceases to amaze me.

My work is loving the world.
Here the sunflowers, there the hummingbird—
equal seekers of sweetness.
Here the quickening yeast; there the blue plums.
Here the clam deep in the speckled sand.
Are my boots old? Is my coat torn?
Am I no longer young, and still not half-perfect? Let me
keep my mind on what matters,
which is my work,
which is mostly standing still and learning to be
astonished.
The phoebe, the delphinium.
The sheep in the pasture, and the pasture.
Which is mostly rejoicing, since all the ingredients are here,
which is gratitude, to be given a mind and a heart
and these body-clothes,
a mouth with which to give shouts of joy
to the moth and the wren, to the sleepy dug-up clam,
telling them all, over and over, how it is
that we live forever.
