State Authorization Leaders: 

It's been a busy start to 2018 as the state authorization team continues to expand and maintain approvals outside Ohio. Please read below for the latest news and updates!

Call for Nominations
Would you like to shape university processes, provide input on state authorization issues, or just learn more about state authorization? The State Authorization Advisory Committee is accepting nominations for new members. If you or a colleague are interested in serving on the SAAC, please complete a nomination form and submit to the State Authorization Team by February 28. 

Rule of 10 
Have you heard of the SARA "Rule of 10"? The Rule of 10 refers to a limit on the number of students placed in out-of-state field experiences in a SARA state. Through participation in SARA, an institution is authorized to place up to 10 students per program at a placement site at one time. Note that the rule does not limit the number of students that can be placed in a state, but rather at a single placement site (such as a hospital). 

Please contact the State Authorization Team if your program would like to place a group of more than 10 students at a placement site, as additional approval may be required from a state's SARA portal entity prior to placement. 

Recorded Webinars
Recorded webinars are now archived on the faculty and staff state authorization webpage. Faculty and staff may view "State Authorization 101" and "International Compliance" webinars under the "Archived Events" heading.
