Supporting Students with a Successful Start!
As a team, we are steadily looking for opportunities to empower our students.  Oftentimes we receive questions for ideas to help students with planning, organizational skills, and goal setting and look for strategies where we can incorporate such skills.
In order to assist students in developing “good study habits” and assist staff with keeping the focus on teaching in a student-centered learning environment, we respectfully ask parents/families to refrain from dropping off student’s homework, classwork, projects, or other forgotten items at the front desk once the school day starts at 8:00 AM.

Beginning Monday, February 26, 2018, items such as backpacks, projects, homework, etc. will not be delivered to the classroom nor will students be called out of class to retrieve them.  Limiting distractions, interruptions, and time out of class can help students stay focused on their learning.

*Lunches may be dropped off in emergency cases but will be delivered to the lunchroom (not classroom) prior to your child’s lunch period. This should be in emergencies only and not be a regular occurrence.

Some of our students have shared habits and strategies they have established at home to help them be better prepared for the school day:
  • Pick one place to keep school items at home (book bag, homework, items to sign)
  • Have a checklist or whiteboard in child’s room (or on refrigerator) of “not leaving home without”
  • Pack night before and leave it by my door!
Thank you for partnering with us on inspiring our students to be life-long learners!

Reminder, there is no school tomorrow, Friday, February 9, 2018 for Fair Day.  Please click HERE to review an email from Hillsborough County District Schools regarding student admission and guidelines (IDs needed and chaperones required after 6:00 PM) for Fair Day. Student tickets were placed in teacher's mailboxes yesterday and will be were distributed this week.

All Pro Dad Meeting

Hey Dads and Kids...
Even though it's Valentine's Day, join us for February's Lutz Prep/Lutz Pre-Prep All Pro Dad - Dad’s and Kid’s Breakfast.  This month's topic is "Influence".  Big Idea: Everyone has influence. Influence means that you make a unique impact on the people around you. You can use that influence to add value to the people around you. You can be a leader in every arena of life by using your influence to highlight others. No one can influence the world like you can!

Team up with other Lutz Prep Dads and Kids for a quick before-school breakfast on Wednesday, February 14.  Doors open at 7:00 AM.  The program starts at 7:15 AM and ends at 7:45 AM. It’s fun and it’s free.  You and your kids will be glad you came!  Great way to start the morning.  Contact Ryan Martin with any questions.

School-Wide Community Service Project Starts Next Week:
Collecting Donations from 2/12-3/9

Did you know that every two minutes a child is removed from his or her home due to abuse or neglect?
PROVIDING DIGNITY AND HOPE. When children are removed from abusive or neglectful homes they often have inadequate, dirty or stained clothing, and little else.  They carry their few belongings in a trash bag.  Eckerd Raising Hope serves over 3,000 kids of all ages each year. When a child enters a ROOM OF HOPE they discover a cheerful, store-like room where they can “shop” for clothes, toiletries, shoes, school uniforms, comfort items and more. Plus, each child is given a brand new duffle bag to carry their belongings. This year's Lutz Prep community service project is to support Eckerd Raising Hope by collecting much-needed toiletries, undergarments and duffel bags for its ROOM OF HOPE.  Click HERE for all the details and the donation wish list.
