Winter Social: Meet SB Nation's Matt Brown!

We may look up to our favorite sports heroes as gods: powerful, athletic, and able to do no wrong. Yet their fate is in the hands of decision makers who are far from perfect.

Nowhere is this truer than in the storied world of college football. One team rises while another falls, not always in proportion to the players’ talent—or where their college is located. A place like Tuscaloosa, Alabama, can rise to prominence while Houston falls behind. A tactical mistake can haunt a team for decades, while a chance occurrence, even one that looks like a setback, can provide a surprising boost.

What If? incisively yet irreverently examines the history of college football’s big decisions, from the Airplane Conference to Chicago’s Big Ten departure, sharing many stories and pointing out the merits and drawbacks of pivotal decisions along the way.

Join us for a book event at at Tommy Joe's in Bethesda at 11:30am on Saturday, February 24. Meet author Matt Brown, Ohio State alum and college league manager for SB Nation, as he discusses his book and college football! A limited number of books will be available to purchase.

Buckeye Trivia Night

Join us at Parlay at 7pm on Thursday, February 15 for a night of Buckeye Trivia!

Cost to enter is $25 for a team of up to 6 people. There will be Ohio State-themed questions, prizes, and fun! Teams are strongly encouraged to come with a Buckeye-themed name and wearing as much scarlet and gray as possible. Parlay will also offer specials for all entered in the trivia contest.

This evening doubles as a fundraiser for the John Glenn College’s Washington Academic Internship Program (WAIP), which bring young Buckeyes to DC to intern for a semester. All proceeds will go to the WAIP crowdfunding campaign.

Gather your closest and most trivia-savvy Buckeyes and join us on Thursday! Questions? Email OSUDC President Carter Alleman.
