Here it is Ladies and Gentlemen,

Helping Friendly Prompt #27, and then some. Whoa nelly.  Sorry for the delay, this one wouldn't stop crystallizing.

We are really looking forward to seeing everyone this evening.  We will be meeting inside for the first time, and there will be other firsts too.  This one is special.  I really hope you can be there.

As usual I'll do my best to bring as many copies of the Prompt as I can, but if you're able to print out a copy at home and bring it with you that is very much appreciated.

Also, if someone wouldn't mind bringing a single rose that would be really great.  You can bring more than one of course, but one is all I need.

Happy Two Six! Make sure you listen to Bob Marley all day today!

Yours in the foam,
Cole

“We have no controversy with science, for that aspect of man to which we have focused on is essentially superphysical — accordingly,  outside the scope of scientific observation. We would simply introduce metaphysics to that realm where physics cannot  tread. The doctrines herein set forth are not our own. They  belong to the ages, part of a noble heritage from a prehistoric time. Some will say that knowledge came down from the  heavens, others that it came up from the Precambrian slime. The pathway of wisdom is well marked. It winds as a golden thread through civilization — the one reality in a world of unrealities. As a ray of heavenly light it touched the buds of empire, and warmed by its glory, the ages blossomed and bore their fruit.

“Those who have envisioned the true splendor of wisdom have closed their books forever. The human body is witness to a hidden majesty. Man, gazing into his own eyes, beholds  therein a “new testament.” Blood courses through the veins and arteries; the heart sounds the drumbeats of progress; the mind soars upward to explore the reaches of eternity; the hand reaches across the interval of bodies to touch the hand of another. It is not enough for science to teach that man is born, suffers, and dies. Such propositions are unworthy of a rational creature. Man is the symbol of a nobler purpose, the evidence of a higher destiny. The mortality of the intellect, if touched by the radiant finger of true enlightenment, is transformed. By the alchemy of realization humanity achieves immortality. Life goes on, soul goes on, purpose goes on, reality goes on. Immortality is inevitable. It is only the intellect, turned by false doctrines from its natural course, that can think itself into the belief of extinction. Sprinkle, therefore, the alchemical ‘“powder” of IDEALISM upon the cold facts of today and they will be transformed in a single instant into the purest gold.” - Manly P. Hall, Occult Anatomy

“If you’re always going for it, the MUSE is always leading you in some direction.  If you have faith in your MUSE, you’re going to get somewhere - if you put shoulder to the wheel.  Every artist of any stripe is a storyteller, and the way you WEAVE it together represents what makes life worth living.” - Bob Weir
<<First Name>>,

We're going for it.

Join us this Tuesday for a very special 2/6 Edition of The Helping Friendly Book Club at “The Wild Detectives” in Bishop Arts.

Why is it so special?  For one thing, in addition to discussing “The Four Agreements” and learning how to use SYMBOLS to communicate TRANSCENDENTAL KNOWLEDGE to escape the DOCTRINE of the Tyranny of the Dulled Mind, we’re going to give you the first ever public sneak peak of our upcoming free public book exchange prototype - The Helping Friendly Book Stand.

That’s right folks, it's 2018 and we’re going for it!

We have not yet shown the prototype to anyone, but we are thrilled to share what we’ve been working on with you, and with this meeting being on the Two/Six and all, it just feels right. We also thought this would be a great opportunity to capture some useful footage for the upcoming Crowdfund Video we're working on.

We want everyone to be part of the magic and would really appreciate your help making sure we have another great turn out this Tuesday.  Please don’t hesitate to invite your friends or help spread the word about 'HFBC at The WD on 2/6' via social media.  The Helping Friendly Book Stand is just one of the surprises, of course.

I'm also ecstatic to let you know that I'll be introducing you to our newly official Muse and Patroness of the Helping Friendly Quest (took us long enough right?!)  We'll also be celebrating the Eternal Joy and Wisdom of the incomparable Bob Marley, because it's his birthday, seriously. Notrandom.

Can you even imagine what the #CosmicDoorPrize is going to be like on Bob Marley’s birthday?

‘The Prompt’ will be sent out before the meeting as usual, so keep an eye out for that, and if you haven’t had a chance to read “The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom” by don Miguel Ruiz here’s a free link to the full text.  It’s a powerful, short little book.

I know we’ve been having such a damn good time since our first HFBC meeting in August of 2013, so you probably won't believe me when I tell you the fun is just beginning, but it’s true.  We’re just getting started.  I also know your time is precious and your presence is a gift and I do not take it lightly.  I honor it, and I hope you’ll join us this Tuesday at The Wild Detectives for a Helping Friendly Milestone the likes of which we’ve never seen before.

Did I mention I have two new wireless microphones for us to use?  If it's too chilly to be outside we have the go ahead to meet inside for the first time also, so that will be another exciting element of legitimacy and a first for us.

One Love, One Heart, let's get together and Blow - Our - Minds.

Yours in the foam,
Cole

“You look at where you're going and where you are and it never makes sense, but then you look back at where you've been and a pattern seems to emerge. And if you project forward from that pattern, then sometimes you can come up with something.” - Robert Pirsig, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
In 2013, after hearing rumors of the legendary lost book, we decided to form a search party and call ourselves ‘The Helping Friendly Book Club’.  On August 14th the Helping Friendly Book Club met for the first time at Boxwood Bar + Grill in Uptown Dallas to discuss “Another Roadside Attraction” by Tom Robbins.

In 2014, the idea to create ‘SEJ Talks’ and build the ‘Helping Friendly Little Free Library’ emerged out of the ‘Helping Friendly Book Club’,

On November 22nd, 2014 we hosted the first ever ‘SEJ Talks’ at ‘The Mandarin Door’ in the Dallas Design District and revealed the completed ‘Helping Friendly Little Free Library’ to the public for the first time.

On December 13, 2014 (12/13/14) we officially cut the ribbon and opened the ‘Helping Friendly Little Free Library’ behind Boxwood Bar + Grill at State and Thomas in Uptown Dallas.

In 2015, the community’s overwhelmingly positive response to ‘SEJ Talks’ and the first 'Helping Friendly Free Library’ led to the decision to form ‘The Helping Friendly Foundation’ as a 501c3.  In August of that year we received our 501c3 status.

For the last two years we have been steadily growing the ‘Helping Friendly Book Club’ and developing our strategy for raising the free public book exchange movement to the level of an art form.  (We are thrilled to share the first part of our plan with you tonight!)

Meanwhile...

On July 14th, 2015 ‘The Study at the Dram’ was born.

On October 20th, 2015 ‘The Dram Poet Society’ was born. When The Dram closed, the Dram Poet Society relocated to The Bottle Shop on Greenville and officially became ‘The Red Red Rose Society.‘

On March 29, 2016 ‘The Red Red Rose Society’ met for the first time.

On April 12, 2017 ‘Live Oak Sessions’ was born at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, expanding our community even further.

During the Great American Eclipse Summer of 2017 the ‘Time Wharf’ was born.  We buried the ‘Time Wharf’ on September 17th and it will be unsealed the morning of April 8th, 2024 when the next Total Solar Eclipse passes directly over Dallas.

On December 9th 2017 we had our first Cosmic Fireside Chat at the Time Wharf Burial Grounds.

This Tuesday, February 6th 2018, Helping Friendly Book Club will meet to discuss our 27th book on the Quest for the Secrets to Eternal Joy and Never Ending Splendor at “The Wild Detectives” and give the public their first ever sneak peak of the Helping Friendly Book Stand, the “limestone blocks” of our next and most visible stage of phyllotaxis to date.

All Aboard the Ship of SEJNES.  Our fantastic voyage is just getting started.

I Want To Help!
The Helping Friendly Mission is to elevate the public conversation and connect people through books in convivial ways.  We are advocating for a well-read public.
Connect with us.
Don't let them fool ya
Or even try to school ya, oh no!
We've got a mind of our own
So go to hell if what you're thinkin' isn't right
Love would never leave us alone
A-yin the darkness there must come out to light
Could you be loved
And be loved?
