CAST Presents The Watsons Go To Birmingham This Weekend! This popular book chronicles the Watson family from Flint, Michigan. There's Momma, Dad, little sister Joetta, Kenny and teenage brother Byron who can't seem to stay out of trouble. Momma and Dad decide it's time for Byron to have a lengthy stay with strict Grandma Sands in Birmingham, Alabama. The family piles into the Brown Bomber and heads south, toward a horrific moment in America history; the bombing of the Sixteenth Avenue Baptist Church during which four young black girls are killed. This moving play brings to light a very important time, one that needs to be learned and talked about. The play will be presented on Friday, Feb 16 and Saturday, Feb 17 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $5 for students and seniors and $10 for adults and can be purchased here.
Next Week, our Dine Around Town is at Panera Wednesday, Feb 21. After dining, consider seeing Screenagers, the documentary about Growing Up in the Digital Age at 7 pm at Brooks Middle School. Drop by Panera Bread between 4-8 pm and bring this flyer or show an electronic version to the cashier in order to have a portion of the proceeds donated to Julian. The PTO appreciates your support as we support our teachers and students!
