Coffee Saga, Episode Bazillion

I am delighted to be back in my studio. Truly. However. There are a few things that remain to be finished before it is finished. (Why did you schedule the movers if it wasn't finished, you might ask. Good question. Answer: I had misplaced my confidence, without good cause, in the contractor's assurances.) Anyway. The point is, the floors are not sealed yet. Which means I must stop and clean up every time I spill something. Every time I spill something. Do you have any idea of how many times a day that is? I can hear the maniacal laughter of all who have ever wished me ill.

I have my revenge, though. I extract entertainment out of it.

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you know I've anointed various areas of my studio with coffee several times. Full disclosure, I only shared about half of the spills--tragedy can get mundane with repetition, and I didn't want to bore you.*

Don't get me wrong; I'm loving the space. The contractor did a lovely job re-configuring the space for me, and I'm happy, so it feels wretched to complain. So I won't. I'll just spill coffee on him when I hand him the final check.

Warmest regards,

Rachel
Only Slightly Vengeful

*A good friend suggested I use cup with a sippy lid, but one of the pleasures of coffee is the ceramic mug, so this is a no-go for me. I have chosen my destiny.

I really did not intend to paint three scenes with right-justified tree groupings. But I did. All the same size, too. Something sub-conscious going on? 20x60 inches, $2750 each. The top one is My Heart Goes Sighing; the bottom two are untitled as of yet (suggestions?).
This is a HUGE painting-- a 72x72 inch diptych. It's still drying on the wall, and it grabs me every time I walk into the studio. If you missed the Rorschach test on this one (in its sketch phase), you really need to be following me on IG or FB (rachelharveyart). Who knew you could get a free personality assessment on an art page? hehe
Collector Corner
Set My Mind at Ease, 20x60 inches, hung in the bathroom of this Salt Lake City collector's home. I LOVE this. I think the bathroom is a perfect place to put an oil painting-- any condensation tightens the canvas nicely, and stray drops of water just run off the surface.

Spiral Poem, Ella Harvey, age 12

Ella brought this home, and I love it. There is so much to unpack. She doesn't eat lunch at school (hamburgers, pizza, jello), so is her home-packed lunch the gruel?  haha!  And who's drooling, her? :D Hope you enjoy this!
