Establishing sustainable loving homes for orphans in East Africa that develop children to reach their full potential.

New Children Join the Family!!!

The heartbeat of Grace International Children's Foundation is to rescue orphans and with God's help, give them hope for a much brighter future. We are thrilled to report that we have just welcomed eight young children into our Lulwanda family!

The Magistrate of the Family Court in Mbale granted GICF custody of four boys and four girls from some very desperate living conditions. The children were greeted with much cheering and love as the bus transporting them pulled onto the Lulwanda compound. Remembering how their lives were rescued and changed, Lulwanda's children were overjoyed to embrace their new siblings.

Our caring, experienced staff is very knowledgeable in the behaviors and fears that come with new arrivals. They have received malnourished and overwhelmed children several times as the LCH family grew over the years. The staff and current children will compassionately and patiently help each child adjust to their new home.

We know that the initially concerned looks on the children's faces will soon be replaced with smiles and laughter as they settle in over the coming months. With God's help, His little children will grow to feel very comfortable at Lulwanda.
Presenting Allen, Emma, Max, Adrian, Daisy, Bridget, Peace and Mary!

These beautiful children need sponsors. For a suggested donation of only $30 per month, you will bless a child's life tremendously. We will assign a child to you to pray for and send you a photo and a letter from the child annually. Please share this news with a friend!

We are Building for the Future!

We are excited to announce that we have launched a campaign to build small detached homes on-site  to house the younger nursery and primary school aged children!  Lulwanda currently has three large dormitories in which our children are raised. We feel that a smaller, family-sized home is a much better environment to grow up in.

We will continue to house the secondary, boarding school children in the dormitories when they come back to Lulwanda on their short-term school breaks.

As the Lord provides, we hope to build ten family style homes within the fence around the compound taking advantage of existing infrastructure of water, sewer
and electricity.  Each home will house ten boys and girls of varying ages and a house "mother" or "parents".

Each home will have 3 bedrooms, one each for girls, boys and houseparent(s). There will be 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and laundry room open to the outdoors, and a dining/ living room area.  The cost is $60,000 for each. We need your help. Please pray and give as you can. We ask that you tell others about this great opportunity to provide a loving, family style home for children. With God all things are possible.

Tendo Expansion

Ivan K (l) and Emma O (r) appreciate all they learned while living at Tendo
Lulwanda Tendo was created as a transition home for our older teenagers to prepare to live on their own in Ugandan society. This has been a very successful program. At Tendo, under the supervision of house parents, the teens learned valuable life skills like budgeting, shopping, and cooking for themselves, in addition to cleaning and caring for their home. Being in town instead of out at rural Lulwanda, they have learned to take public transportation, are close to businesses to find internships and jobs during school breaks, can do their own shopping and much more. Our first ten residents have completed three years living at Tendo and have moved out. GICF is covering their education costs but the young adults live with their extended families on term breaks from school.

Lulwanda Tendo is at capacity now with 18 students living there. By the end of 2018, we will have 18 more students needing to move out of Lulwanda Children's Home and therefore we need to find an additional Tendo to accommodate them.  The search is on for a suitable dwelling to rent. Startup costs to prepare and furnish a second Tendo home are estimated to be $28,000. Again, we need your financial support and prayers.

Rescued, Loved, Changed- Naster's Story

Hear from Naster, in her own words, how being rescued from a difficult life in the village to grow up at Lulwanda changed her life.
Naster, seated in the chair, tells Bible stories to the younger children at Lulwanda while waiting to start classes at University. In Uganda there is a long delay after receiving grades from high school until students can enter University.
This short video shows a typical day at Lulwanda. See the children having snacks before heading to school; helping with the animals; making chapati bread; Bible study and prayer; parties; playing sports, games and singing.  There are also scenes from the medical clinic. Lulwanda is a busy place!

We pray blessings on you, our dear donors and supporters.  We trust the words of Jesus in Luke 6:38, "Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back."

Thank you for your support.  God bless you.
