Be sure not to miss this special Mass for the dedication of a new shrine for the statue of Our Lady of Norwalk. Our Lady will be installed in a new medieval-style triptych crafted by a local master builder and painted by a local artist. The statue, which depicts Mary holding an oyster shell and her Son holding a pearl, has a deep meaning for the Mother Church of this shoreline city.

There will be a Solemn Mass at 6:00 p.m. with the combined choirs of St. Mary's. The Mass will feature chant and polyphony in alternatim, including a setting of the Ordinary by Palestrina based on the Marian "Missa cum jubilo," which the Viri Galilaei will sing in dialogue with the Schola Cantorum. All the choirs will sing a 16th-c. Venetian setting of "Ave maris stella" ("Hail, star of the sea") by Asola, as well as Edward Elgar's beautiful "Ave Maria."
