Congrats!
Bronwyn - Outreach Executive: Our girl Bronwyn got some crazy awesome news in the past few weeks. She is engaged! Bronwyn is a product of our high school outreach program, choosing Carleton because of the WISE activities put on. So, yes you make a difference when you help out! We are happy to have helped her grown into an exceptional young woman, and thankful for all she does for us. All the best with your exciting future!
Leading Ladies - Founder Edition
That's right, Founder Edition! As joining CU-WISE is such an important networking tool, we wanted to show you who started it all!
We are proud to bring you Co-Founder and ever impressive Gail!
2007 was the year that this smart girl & some friends decided to start what is truly legendary at CU for Women in STEM. Gail held the position of Internal Affairs Executive for several years. While she started our wonderful Chapter, she completed her Bachelor of Computer Science (2007), then continued on gaining her Masters of Computer Science in 2009. She wasn't finished, gaining an ABD (all but dissertation) PhD in Computer Science here at Carleton. Gail spent her time focusing on researching her thesis in storytelling in video games (more here), and some side research projects in education games / computer science education. As she believes in education, we are proud to report that Gail is "picking away at it" in a part-time manner now.
CU loved her so much, Gail blessed the lecture halls teaching full time for a couple of years before moving to Shopify by mid-2015. She was originally hired as a web developer, then taking massive strides to lead the design and launch of the partnership between Carleton and Shopify. This partnership is now branded Dev Degree. Currently, Gail is the Technical Program Manager, Core Computer Science and Pedagogy for the Computing and UX Education team.
Gail, you are truly impressive and we couldn't be more proud to follow in your footsteps. Thank you for taking the initiative to see the value in a Chapter such as WISE. We are blessed to have you as a mentor.

Stay tuned we have many more Founder Editions ahead!
