Dear Members of the GFMD Network,
On March 13 at 16:00 CET, GFMD will be holding its last webinar on the SDG16 commitment to public access to information and national media use of ATI/FOI laws in investigative reporting in different regions. This last installment in the 4-part series will be a talk with two investigative journalists from Pakistan and Jordan about how FOI laws have been used in their work.

The webinars are part of an IPDC-funded project to raise awareness regionally of Sustainable Development Goal 16.10 “to ensure public access to information and protect fundamental freedoms, in accordance with national legislation and international agreements."

The webinar will be moderated by GFMD’s UN representative Bill Orme, a veteran journalist, former Head of External Communications at UNDP, and former Exective Director of CPJ. Bill is currently spearheading efforts to secure Consultative Status for GFMD at the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

Featured panelists are Rehmat Mehsud, Investigative Journalism Fellow with the Pakistan Press Foundation, and previously a reporter and contributing writer for the Wall Street Journal and freelance journalist for The Globe and Mail, The Christian Science Monitor, Times of London and The Diplomat Magazine, and Carole Kerbage, award-winning journalist and MENA Desk Editor at ARIJ. Before joining the ARIJ, Carole was a research consultant at the International Labour Organization's regional offices in the Arab states. She has also provided freelance journalism work to several Arabic newspapers.
