Levenshulme Old Library Open Day
Friday 23rd February 2018, 4:00pm – 6.00pm

We are pleased to announce the Levenshulme Old Library will be holding an open day to enable the community to find out about our future plans for this lovely building.
The first time we've been able to open its doors to the public in two years .

From 4pm and there will be music from the Jazz Biscuits.  ALL FM will be on hand to answer questions as will the Levenshulme Youth Project, art therapy group the Owl and the Coconut and trustees of the Lev' Old Library CIO.

At around 5pm the MP for Levenshulme and Gorton, Afzal Khan MP, will deliver a message of congratulations to the many people who have worked so hard to make the building viable once again.

After that there will be a silent auction for our lovely donated
vintage 'library chair'... plus other fun activities.

...and then from 6pm the celebrations will
continue in the Bluebell pub.

The Levenshulme Carnegie Library, opened in 1904, was closed in 2016. It is now re-opening as a multi-purpose art and culture space, run by, and for the local community.

There is still some way to go before the library can function fully as an arts centre. The trustees of the Levenshulme old Library Group are keen for the local community to come to the celebration and experience the unique ambiance of this fantastic space.

With the first tenants already engaged and already working in the space, the trustees hope this will provide a central point for cultural activity and community in the neighbourhood.
