Wise Choices for Life UPDATE
February 2018
It's almost impossible to reduce extreme poverty unless people know how to control their fertility.  Unless people have both scientific knowledge about reproduction and life skills to form safe healthy relationships, they are usually vulnerable to myths about conception and pregnancy.  Unless traditional cultural faith leaders also embrace the scientific truths and pass them on to the youth, the high population growth that heralds long-term poverty will not cease.

In the first eight weeks of this year we have seen Wise Choices for Life reaching 368 people, and five schools in Tanzania.
Recent comments and photos:

IMPACT STORIES

The youth at Child of Hope together with their welfare staff were so excited for the impactful training they received. The head of the institution is willing to have Wise Choices for Life come again. The youth can now explain menstrual cycle and hygiene and they testified that this is the knowledge and skills that they needed.

FROM UNIVERSITY TRAINING
  • Betty-Child welfare coordinator at Christian Child care program the analogy of the farming season to the woman’s menstrual cycle fascinated her thinking so much that she felt an urgency to train all children under her care on the same.
  • Yvonne from Jenga Wise Choices for Life is the most amazing and needed training it is a well put together program to take into any community. I have personally seen the trainings change lives and attitudes with inmates and staff of Maluku female prison and Remand home.
  • The woman’s body and the whole process was so fascinating especially with the demonstrations and illustrations made me clearly appreciate the woman’s cycle. Ivan Nafuye UCU staff.
  • WCFL has been a blessing by use of the drama, songs and debates. These are remarkable tools that pass on the message clearly. The impact is permanent. It is a job well done. Sarah Aber Olivia UCU Staff.
Thank you everyone for your continued support into 2018.
