Who will win the title of the Next Great Startup? After weeks of intense competition, four student-led teams remain in the 2018 competition.
Each team has a unique and compelling vision to share in their final pitch. All finalists will receive a share of more than $70,000 in combined cash and services prizes, but only one will take home the #NGSU title!

INTEA: a maker of premium kombucha
INTEA brews kombucha – a non-alcoholic fermented beverage made from sweetened tea. The company emphasizes flavor and drinkability to set their product apart in the rapidly growing market.
The team includes Kaylyn Kirkpatrick and Maria Del Pilar Alessandri, both graduate students in Food Science and Technology, and Rodrigo Valley, a graduate student in Industrial Engineering. They bring a diverse skill set and more than 13 years of combined experience to this new venture.
SFB Technologies is creating a new solution for verifying the authenticity of valuable goods, such as luxury watches. The service, called Vaas, utilizes a blockchain-based platform to help manufacturers and consumers store warranty and ownership data on a permanent, decentralized ledger.
The team is Ferdinand Pongratz, an undergraduate Business major, and Brock Smedley and Sam Hudson, who both major in Computer Science.
ShoeBio.com searches and validates shoe listings from more than 150 different retail websites, helping consumers find any shoe they want, any size, at the best price available. The company’s software checks inventory and price data in near real-time, tracking availability and alerting shoppers know when their favorites go on sale.
The team includes Benjamin Steinhorn and Mitchell Stebner, both undergraduate students in Business.
Wellio is developing an app to help people living with mental illness take control of their health. The app provides crisis management resources, predictive logging to track triggers, and a cloud-based library of coping skills. Wellio doesn't replace mental health care - it enhances it and fills the gaps.
The team is Alison Bowden, an undergraduate majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Houston Morgan, a student at Arizona State University.
